Welcome! Bienvenue! Nuw-'ilum!
Quarterway is a single-track elementary school enrolling 325 students in Early French Immersion from Kindergarten to Grade 7. Quarterway is also proud to host the Late French Immersion program which begins at grade 6. We currently serve 25 Late French Immersion students.
A 21st century school, Ecole Quarterway has a dynamic team of 35 staff who work hard to ensure that each student receives a balance between academic challenge, socio-emotional development, health and physical education, Aboriginal understandings, Learning Support and Enrichment, Counselling, Speech, Music, Band, Library, Media Literacy and more.
Track and Field Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers who could do any of the following:
- Practice with small groups of athletes on a variety of events (either in the morning at 8:00 or after school).
- Attend and help out with an event at the meets (please see the School Calendar for the meet dates)
- This might include timing or measuring or organizing kids into heats/line-ups
Please contact the office if you are able to help us out. Thanks so much!
On occasion, we have earthquake drills here at school. It is important to us that all visitors know what to do in the case of a drill or a real emergency. below are the expectations for parents and other visitors during an earthquake drill:
- After a sixty second count in the building, parents, staff and students gather on the field. There are certain teachers who are excuse once attendance is confirmed.
- If you have signed in, Barb and Mike will know you are on site and you will be accounted for outside.
Burger and beverage tickets are now on sale. They will be available for sale on Monday March 9th and Tuesday the 10th in the foyer, in the morning after drop off and after school at pick up time. If you can't make it to purchase tickets then please email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a time. We are also still seeking silent auction items if anyone has a good or service that they can donate. There is also a letter that anyone can have a copy of to approach local businesses to request donations from.
The Burger and Beverage is on March 20th at the Old City Station Pub and we look forward to seeing many of you there!
Exciting news! Ecole Quarterway is the lucky recipient of the "Schools on Stage" grant, sponsored by the Coastal Community Credit Union. This grant pays for the rental of the Port Theatre for one day so that students have the amazing opportunity of performing in a professional theatre.
All students will be involved in the French musical, "La foret de Clochepan." The story is about a forest and its animals. Both have become sick. A mysterious artist arrives and eventually the forest and its inhabitants are healed. If you don't understand French, don't worry, we have the technology to help you understand the dialogue and the lyrics.
Our day at the Port Theatre is Thursday, May 21, 2015. Rehearsals will take place in the morning, an open dress rehearsal is scheduled for the afternoon beginning at 12:30, and the evening show will begin at 6:30 pm (in consideration of the many students we have who are under the age of 8).
Ticket details will be available the month before the show.
Parent volunteers to help supervise students backstage, as well as help with props and costumes and set, would be very much appreciated. Please contact me, Mme Lorenz (the music and band teacher), at email@example.com if you can help.
Please express your gratitude to the folks at the Coastal Community Credit Union for their generosity. This will be an exciting project.
LATE FRENCH IMMERSION
